An eight-year-old Broome girl and her single mum are shaking up the fashion industry with the launch of Fire Monkey, a gender- neutral children's clothing brand designed to celebrate creativity, inclusivity and. sustainability.
Founded by young artist. Stevie and her mother Adele Peek, a First Nations entre preneur, Fire Monkey is a homegrown label inspired by storytelling, cultural pride and a love for the environment.
The mother and daughter have worked together to create a line of eco-conscious clothing that lets kids. embrace their individuality and curiosity. Fire Monkey clothing features vibrant colours, playful prints, and art-driven designs drawn. from Stevie's imagination.
Each collection is influenced by the landscapes and wildlife of the Kimberley, with an emphasis on self- expression and adventure.
"We created Fire Monkey to bring my daughter's creative dreams to reality and to inspire families to embrace being brave, use their voice, and celebrate their uniqueness," Ms Peek said. "Artistic expression is a powerful and inspiring way for First Nation kids to share their unique perspectives and how they see the world.
"Sharing my daughter's art and witnessing the joy it brings to others, just as it brings joy to me, allows me to advocate for her in a simple yet meaningful way.

"Our goal is to provide clothing that sparks joy and helps all children, regard less of gender, feel connected, seen and heard." With sustainability a key focus, Fire Monkey ensures all pieces are ethically made using environmentally friendly materials.
"The reason 1 think it's important is to show kids
with disability and disadvantage to encourage them to do whatever they want, and that anything is possible, you just have to try, practice and work hard,"
Stevie said.
What started as a creative passion project has gained attraction, with Fire Monkey already attracting attention from families Australia across and beyond.
